HAIL, MY METAL BROTHERS AND SISTERS!

Just wanted to let you know that there is going to be a big concert on December 12th in honor of Auburn Records' 25th Anniversary! The concert is going to take place at the Beachland ballroom starting at 5 PM and goes to 2 AM and maybe even a little more. (see flyer below)

All of the bands that are playing were at some point on the Auburn Records label or at least on the scene for quite some time. For instance, the band ATTAXE never did an Auburn release but they did play the Heavy Artillery concert that took place back in the 1980s; with some of the bands that will be playing at the 25th anniversary show! Unfortunately, Purgatory and Black Death will not be on the bill: Hatrix has a prior engagement with his other project, Mushroomhead, though he really wanted to play this show, which is really going to be a historical event. Black Death was one of my favorite bands from back in the '80s Cleveland Metal scene. I was really looking forward to seeing them even though their drummer, Phil Bullard passed away recently.

Don Foose, who most people will remember him as the singer from The Spudmonsters and Run Devil Run, is on the bill also. He just put out album called, Sacrifice. I have heard a couple tracks on the radio so far and I can't wait to hear the rest of it. If you're into hardcore metal with a message, Foose is the band you need to check out.

ATTAXE will be there in a different form: the band will consist of members of Dark Arena and of course will be fronted by none other than Juan Ricardo. Destructor will be playing their album, Maximum Destruction, in its entirety, which I think is pretty cool, though it does seem to be the thing to do lately as a band with so many songs to play. I'm certain that they will play songs from their other releases as well. I still can't believe CHEMIKILL will be playing! I haven't seen those guys in probably 17 years, maybe more. I am also looking forward to seeing Shok Paris and Breaker. Back in July 2009, I heard that Vic Hix left his band AFTERSHOK. Then about a month ago I heard that he is a full time member of Shok Paris, which make sense to me now. At the time I just couldn't figure it out. Oh well! Enough of me blabbing away here!
